Education Specialist
The Retail Education Specialist is a tech savvy, life-long learner who loves to share their knowledge with others through a variety of mediums. Primary responsibility of the role is to develop and deliver engaging health related educational content to clients across Canada - both in-person and virtually. A passion for natural medicine, exceptional presentation skills and the ability to create original, compelling content are all a must for this dynamic individual.
Job Functions
  • Create, develop and deliver educational content to be deployed as part of our National Retail Education Program (NREP) to the staff of health food stores and pharmacies across Canada; education provided in Ontario will be a combination of in-person and virtual; regular evening education sessions and occasional delivery on weekends
  • Support the success of sales and marketing initiatives with in-store education of staff, managers and buyers
  • Utilize Salesforce and other software to communicate key insights to sales team, synthesizing data in monthly reports to help establish ROI of educational initiatives
  • Manage client database and reports to monitor and secure sales growth of identified clients
  • Meet and exceed company sales targets
  • Manage and convert leads into prospective clients
  • Ability to support other educational initiatives as required throughout the business
  • Attend staff trainings and relevant trade shows to foster continual learning
  • Participate in product development meetings, providing relevant feedback to help shape new product innovation
Experience / Abilities of the Ideal Candidate
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in health, wellness, nutrition, education, business administration or related field
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Superior skill and confidence when conveying complex concepts in a dynamic, easy to understand manner
  • Exceptionally strong verbal, written and presentation skills; proficient at assessing knowledge level of audience and pivoting delivery of content to meet their needs
  • Able to interpret and analyze sales data; draw conclusions and present key insights to team members
  • Knowledge and experience working with GoToWebinar, knowledge of additional virtual learning platforms is an asset
  • Preference will be given to those who have clinical experience working with patients/clients
  • Any lack of experience must be offset by an exceptional work ethic, high degree of initiative and ability to learn quickly on the job

Essential requirement to thrive in this role:
  • Candidate must have a post-secondary education pertaining to health, wellness and/or nutrition
  • Some form of experience in providing health care and/or education
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with many interruptions and multiple priorities
  • Have highly developed analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills, thrives on tackling new challenges in an ever-changing work environment
  • Process-oriented with a proactive mindset always seeking to optimize systems to find greater efficiency and improved results
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail; Proven ability to prioritize work in an efficient and organized manner in order to meet deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated high level of judgment, tact, and diplomacy in interacting with a wide variety of national and internal stakeholders
  • Must be a self-starter, who demonstrates a high degree of initiative and the ability to work well independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Must have a reliable mode of transportation at your disposable at all times and be willing to drive to meet clients across southern Ontario
  • Physically able to lift 30+ lbs.
