A Patient’s Significant Clinical Improvement from Transdermal Progesterone Cream for Premenstrual Syndrome: A Case Report

Background

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a prevalent global condition characterized by physical and distressing psychological symptoms during the luteal phase. Its etiology is linked to hormonal fluctuations and abnormal allopregnanolone metabolism, leading to impaired gamma-aminobutyric acid-A (GABA-A) receptor sensitivity and an altered stress response.

Abstract

(1) Background: Dietary fiber can significantly alter gut microbiota composition. The role of the gut microbiome in the Gut–Brain Axis and modulation of neuropsychiatric disease is increasingly recognized. The role of antenatal diet, particularly fiber intake, in mitigating maternal mental health disorders remains unexplored. The objective of this review is to investigate the association between maternal fiber intake and perinatal depression and anxiety (PDA).

Pattern of Physical Injury Associated with Intimate Partner Violence in Women Presenting to the Emergency Department: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

OBJECTIVE: To examine patterns of physical injury associated with intimate partner violence among women presenting to emergency room departments. DATA SOURCES: Systemic searches of Medline, EMBASE, and CINHAHL electronic databases from their earliest entries up to February, 2008. Reference lists from the studies included from the electronic database search were reviewed for published and unpublished studies.
