Position: Production Assistant / Herbalist
Location: Toronto, ON (Junction neighbourhood)
Job Type: Part-time
Availability: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., 1-2 days/week
Hourly Wage: $20/hour
Start Date: : October/November 2023

The Production Assistant will offer support in the manufacturing of herbal products, including tinctures, glycerites, and cosmetics. Main functions include:

• Making, stirring, and pressing herbal tinctures
• Monitoring tinctures throughout maceration process
• Preparing and pressing herbal glycerites and herbal-infused oils
• Making a variety of cosmetics, such as creams, salves, soaps, lip balms, and bath bombs
• Preparing large batch tea and tincture blends
• Assisting with herbal inventory, assessing stock levels, and unpacking shipments
• Bottling and labelling products
• Maintaining up-to-date production records
• Operating and maintaining specialty equipment including tincture press, cutting mill, and various cooking appliances
• Cleaning and maintaining production space

Employment requirements:

• Herbalist, naturopath, TCM practitioner, or student of herbal medicine
• Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to comfortably stand/work on feet for extended periods
• Familiarity with herbal Latin names is an asset
