Part Time Faculty, Medical Procedures (CCNM - Boucher Campus)
The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) Boucher Campus is seeking a part-time faculty member to teach Medical Procedures for the Spring 2023 term. In this course, the Faculty Member provides students with instruction on identifying and differentiating between commonly-encountered dermatologic conditions. Minor surgical techniques that fall within the scope of practice for a naturopathic physician, including outlining the risks, benefits, indications and contraindications of each, are covered. Suturing, dressing, and evaluating surgical wounds and minor lacerations will be discussed. In addition to didactic instruction, this course includes one laboratory session where the instructor will guide students in applying the fundamentals of minor surgical techniques to a biological model in the form of a pig’s foot or synthetic suturing model.
CCNM follows government or site-specific requirements with respect to vaccination and proof may be required based on the nature of the role.

- The ideal candidate will be a Board licensed ND or MD
- Previous teaching experience preferred
- Experience in both online and onsite course delivery an asset
- Background in basic minor surgery techniques
- Suturing ability
- Ability to motivate and engage students
- Ability to adapt and excel in new delivery and assessment platforms
- Excellent, demonstrable communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with students and colleagues
- Positive, demonstrated commitment to student success
