Human Resources Generalist (CCNM - Toronto Campus)

We are currently looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced human resources professional to support the human resource function of the college. This newly created role will be responsible for collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders to support the goals and objectives of CCNM. Reporting to the Executive Director, Human Resources, this position will be responsible for:
  • Managing an effective recruitment and selection process, including working with managers to ensure job descriptions are up to date and to create job postings for internal and external advertising.
  • Developing integrative employee orientation programs and carrying out orientation processes to ensure all procedures and policies have been followed and are complete.
  • Providing training and support to managers on various functions including new employee orientation, performance management and coaching for results.
  • Providing support in the area of labour relations and work related to the management of the collective agreement.
  • Coordinating the employee survey process including the employee engagement survey, developing reports and action plans based on results.
  • Review of human resources policies, ensuring policies and procedures are up to date and in alignment with legislative requirements.
  • Developing and implementing effective internal human resources operating procedures and practices, including job and performance evaluations.
  • Supporting an employee-focused human resources department to create a safe and inclusive environment for all staff and faculty.

As a condition of employment, successful candidates are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination. In response to COVID-19, this position is currently remote, but may be occasionally be required to be on-site at the Toronto Campus location.

  • Post-secondary degree/education in human resources, public administration, or other relevant field and/or completion of a recognized human resources management diploma program or equivalent
  • Minimum three years human resources experience, preferably in the not for profit sector
  • Experience in a unionized setting an asset
  • Highly developed computer literacy in all range of programs such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HRIS and Payworks software
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of relevant employment legislation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels both internally and externally
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to be tactful; and strong judgment to deal with staff, faculty and students
  • Able to multi-task and handle detailed tasks
The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), is Canada’s premier, pan-Canadian academic institution for education and research in naturopathic medicine.
